Interior design duo Woodson and Rummerfield who own the boutique Woodson and Rummerfield’s House of Design in Los Angelas also design their own textiles, furniture and home goods. “Their signature use of bold color, luxe comfort and rich patterns have elevated them to designer elite status with a portfolio that reads like a “Who’s Who” in the celeb world” says Elle Décor’s Carla Jordan. I especially appreciate how their designs are unlike anything we have seen before. At first what you see is a variety of different colors and a range of textures, patterns, and shapes but the more you look at what they put together the more sense it makes as a cohesive design. Maybe that’s why they are so appealing to celebrities.
Woodson and Rummerfield’s design rules to live by:
•Context is Everything
Decoration should take its cue from the home’s location, history, and form.
•Know the Basics
Decorating all comes back to a harmonious relationship between color, texture, proportion, scale and pattern.
•Color Balance
Mix and match textures, large prints, small patterns, florals and/or stripes in quantity levels to your taste.
•Practice the Art of Restraint
Remember that there can be too much of a good thing. Less is more.
